Costa del Sol

The Costa del Sol, in the south of Spain, has its own characteristics and its own atmosphere. This Costa also called the Costa del Golf. In a radius of 60 km there are more than 70 golf courses. The standard of living on the Costa del Sol is higher compared to the other Costa's and the atmosphere is even more international. In addition, there is another infrastructure which is characterized by low-rise building and more Unesco protected areas. 

The coastline stretches from Nerja (East of Malaga), Velez-Malaga, Torre del Mar, Rincon de la Victoria, Málaga, Torremolinos, Benalmadena, Fuengirola, Mijas, Calahonda, Cabopino (port), Elviria, Los Monteros Rio Real, Marbella, Puerto Banus (port), San Pedro, Estepona, Sotogrande to Gibraltar in the most western point.

With its long warm summers and short mild winters, the Costa del Sol is the place to be where you can enjoy throughout the whole year.

Add to this the long sandy beaches, beautiful hills and villages and you'll understand why so many visitors are charmed by this region and return, not only for vacation but to buy a house and live here. Also, there are now long wooden promenades laid out for even disabled people in order to enjoy the coastline.

Smooth relations between the Spanish and European residents ensured the local culture and traditional Spanish lifestyle has retained while the region offers all the activities you want. It is a region of great contrasts. Here in this romantic, historic and attractive region of Spain, Andalusia, basically everybody feels at home.

The Costa del Sol has a very varied nature. Dry mountains, green hills, vast plains with olive trees and blue lakes.


Estepona is a typical Spanish village and is also known for its great seafood restaurants. The golf enthusiasts don’t have to worry; several golf courses beautify the surroundings of Estepona. To find the real hustle and bustle, you might to Marbella, the heart of this fashionable seaside resort can be reached within fifteen minutes. Estepona is about 50 minutes' drive from Málaga Airport.


Marbella is 12 months per year, the beating heart of the Costa del Sol. The urbanization of many existing municipality has its own unique microclimate, by the Sierra Blanca mountain, also known as La Concha. The opportunities in the cosmopolitan city are endless. A long beach walk on the fabulous beaches, play golf on one of the more than ten golf courses, dinner at a fantastic star restaurant or a night on stage in one of the numerous bars and nightclubs. Everything is possible. Marbella is the place for entertainment. 


The village of Benahavis, a mountain village 7 km from the beach, situated between Marbella, Estepona and Ronda and is above one of the most beautiful villages of southern Spain with six golf courses and breath taking views of the mountains and the sea. Benahavis is a charming village with whitewashed houses, sunny located in a beautiful nature. Benahavis has a great culture, but most of Benahavis is famous for its cuisine.


West of Marbella, passing the town of Estepona, the shoreline changes dramatically. In the Bay of Casares, allowed large hotels and enormous urbanisations behind and leads to a more natural landscape. The western Costa del Sol offers spacious beaches and endless stretches of rugged and untouched natural landscape, besides all this, there are several golf courses, an authentic sports marina and numerous bars and several restaurants.


Sotogrande is a very upscale area, located approximately 15 minutes from Gibraltar and one hour from Malaga airport. Sotogrande has obvious American influences that are reflected in the spacious residential areas, wide roads and large villas. Sotogrande is loved by many and offers next to a beautiful new marina, great golf courses, including 'top of the bill' Valderrama. This environment is characterized by the overwhelming nature and its low construction density.


Mijas-Costa is the area between Fuengirola in the east and Marbella in the west. In this municipality are prestigious urbanisations as Sitio de Calahonda, Riviera del Sol and Miraflores located. A very attractive area, away from the bustle of the towns of Fuengirola and Marbella, but with all facilities nearby. Here one can enjoy the extensive beaches, the marina of Cabopino and several golf courses.


Here are many top golf courses and many luxury golf resorts, where beginners and advanced golfers of all levels can play. For some courses, a low handicap is required, but in the golf parks, anyone can visit. Especially around Marbella, Spain's most exclusive resort, you will find many top courses and luxury golf resorts.


Los Arqueros is located 10 minutes from Marbella and designed by Severiano Ballesteros. The 18 hole course is a bit inland, on a beautiful location just above San Pedro de Alcantara, on the road to Ronda. The course is tough and has narrow fairways. From the lovely clubhouse you can enjoy a breath taking view of the Sierra de Ronda mountain range and the sea. Further facilities include a golf school, shop, bar, bank, sauna and tennis court. Par 72.


This beautiful golf complex is located on the green quieter east side of Marbella, near Elviria. The first nine holes were designed by Antonio Garcia Garrido, and the track quickly became a favourite with a wide range of golfers. The second nine holes were inaugurated in 1996, and the track is now seen by both advanced players and beginners as one of the best golf courses on the coast. The course offers players a challenging game with views over the Mediterranean Sea and the green surrounding hills. The complex has tennis courts, a restaurant and bar.


La Cala has three 18 hole courses. This resort is a prestigious Golf Academy. Here, four golf pros teach you all the special techniques of golf. De La Cala America Course is a challenging job that requires a lot of precision from the golfer with its narrow fairways on several holes. La Cala Asia is simpler and more suitable for higher handicappers. La Cala Europe is not long, but hilly and requires a lot of precision. Par 71 and 73.
